Unicorn Club
The inspiration for our Unicorn Club began in 2019, while Liv was going through treatment. Every Thursday night was chemo night. The medication came in a hazardous waste bag, and gloves were required to administer it. Liv would often cry, sharing how the medicine burned her throat and made her feel sick almost instantly. Thursday mornings were especially hard, as she would wake up already dreading the day ahead.
That changed when a friend began leaving small packages on our doorstep every Thursday morning. Slowly, the narrative shifted. Thursdays became something Liv looked forward to — a small bright spot during an otherwise difficult week. That simple act of kindness is what inspired this program.
In 2026, our original Unicorn Box program evolved into Unicorn Club, allowing us to provide more consistent and meaningful support for both children and their caregivers throughout treatment.
Children enrolled in Unicorn Club receive a welcome package filled with age-appropriate items designed to comfort and occupy them during long clinic visits and extended hospital stays. Throughout the year, children continue to receive happy mail and themed packages to celebrate milestones like birthdays, the start of summer, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and more!
Recognizing that pediatric cancer affects the entire family, Unicorn Club also includes caregiver support. Caregivers receive thoughtful touches and resources designed to offer encouragement, comfort, and moments of care during an incredibly demanding time.
Unicorn Club is our way of walking alongside your family, bringing small moments of joy, comfort, and connection when they are needed most.
